During this busy season of outdoor sessions, I want to offer a bit of advice to clients, and future clients regarding choosing the location for your session. I know that most clients expect me to come up with a location, which is fine, and I definitely can do that, but to 100% honest, I am sooooo tired of all of the usual locations. Sadly, our area doesn’t have the wide variety of beautiful outdoor public locations, or a large urban downtown with tons of options that bigger cities have. It’s hard to keep things fresh and new when I am left up to choosing the location. Some of the best sessions have taken place when the client has suggested the location. ..and by choosing a location, I don’t mean a public park, or common space…I mean a large yard with some interesting features, and a variety of spots to shoot, or someone’s property that they can ask permission to use. Some things to look for are lots of trees, a pond, a grassy field, cool doors, etc….One requirement I do have though, is that I need at least one area with some shade. So if you are planning on scheduling a session, PLEASE think hard about the location…I REALLY don’t want all of my sessions to look alike, and I’m sure you, as a client, want your portraits to be unique and special as well…
And now for a sneak peek of another beautiful SENIOR SESSION that I did right before Spring break…Hope mom and C love theses!!!
