When I was asked to do this session, I knew it would be hard given the ages of the kids, but since I hadn’t seen J and P in such a long time (they used to live in McAllen, but several years ago they moved away) I really wanted to do the shoot. I’m so glad I was able to get them in, because I’m so happy with the way these turned out! What beautiful kids, and so sweet too! Thanks guys for visiting my studio during your stay in McAllen!

Cousins at the Beach {McAllen Tx Children’s Photographer}

I’ve been wanting to edit and post these for a while now….I just love them. These are my kids and their cousins during our family beach trip at South Padre Island over Memorial Day weekend. We had so much fun, and all of the kids had the best time playing together….I’m so glad that I was able to capture this moment in time.

I will be scheduling two weekends as of right now for beach sessions….one is the weekend of July 29th-31st, and the other is the weekend of Sept 10th-12th. Some of the dates during these weekends are already taken, so email to check availability. Beach sessions will be very limited this summer/fall, so please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in reserving a session. The session fee for beach sessions is $275 and must be paid in full to reserve the date.

Sisters {McAllen Children’s Photographer}

These two little girls were SO great to work with! They really were so sweet, and so easy to photograph. I just love the ones of the two of them….I jokingly told them to act like they love each, other but it was obvious that I didn’t need to give them any pointers…..they were so natural together – they just fell into place and I snapped away. Thanks mom for letting me spend time with your great girls!

On another note, July is almost booked…I will only be accepting a few more sessions for the rest of month, so please check my calendar and email soon if you would like to reserve a session.

Abby {McAllen Baby Photographer}

I can’t believe my little Abby is 11 months today!!! One more month and she’s a big girl….the big ONE! I took her into the studio (which I rarely do) and did 9 month pictures of her awhile back and hadn’t gotten around to editing them. Finally, here they are!! AND I was lucky enough to have Austin Children’s Photographer, Bridgette Bloomquist on hand to help me that day….she took some of Abby and I that day that I will treasure forever! Catching Up! {McAllen Children’s Photographer}

Phew…I’m finally feeling like I’m catching up….sort of! It feels good to finally be productive, and make some real progress. I had been feeling like I was spinning my wheels and getting nowhere for quite awhile…it’s amazing what a new (much faster) computer, and some good quality, uninterrupted work time will do for you!

I’ve been photographing these mischievous little ones forever…actually since they were born. Mom picked a great location for this shoot….hay, dirt, a barn, and even a little baby cow…what more can two little boys and a photographer want??? Hope mom loves these!!!

Here is another one of my favorite families….I’ve been photographing these kids for years!!! This session was for little C’s first year, and big brother’s 7 year pictures. Sibling pictures are really, REALLY hard to get, especially when there is a 1 year old in the mix, so I was really happy to get several really great ones of the three of them! Happy birthday boys! And happy Father’s Day to their dad….another amazing dad that I am very proud to call my friend!

I’m Finally Back!!! {McAllen Children’s Photographer}

I feel like I’ve been gone forever! I haven’t posted anything new on my blog in so long….between the end of school, two of my girls’ birthdays, and two family trips, this summer has already been crazy! I’m finally back and anxious to get back to work. I have LOTS of sessions to post, but first I have to get going on editing!

To start with, here is little T’s 1 year pictures……LOVE this little guy’s red hair!!

Life is Crazy!!! {McAllen Children’s Photographer}

Life is busy. Scratch that….life is CRAZY!!! At least for me its, and I know it is for all of you parents out there. No matter how old your kids are….babies and preschool age where they need mommy and daddy for everything….tweens and teens where they are trying to break away, developing their own opinions and personalities, and trying to establish who they are and a social life of their own (but still need mom and dad for almost everything!) or high school (especially seniors) where they need money ALL the time!

No matter what the age of your kids, the common theme I hear from my clients across the board is how crazy busy they are! Between all of the things that you “have” to do – school projects, extra curricular activities, housework, career, birthday parties, and your own social life, it’s easy to place “professional photography session” at the bottom of the list. As a mom of three little girls (youngest 9 months), and a children’s photographer, I can completely understand how the documentation of daily life tends to get pushed aside. I am the guiltiest of all when it comes to this. I’m always behind in my editing of client sessions, and I can’t even bear the thought of adding an extra editing time to my schedule. The result ends up being that even if I do take the time to photograph my own kids, the images sit on my computer for at least a year!!! Meanwhile, my little ones are growing up before my eyes!

Don’t let this happen to you! Don’t miss out the milestones in your children’s lives, but also don’t miss out on capturing those everyday moments. I think that is why my my photography style is the way it is – candid, natural, unposed and most of all, fun. I want to see, and capture images of kids doing what they really do….. I love to capture real smiles, happiness, and relationships. These are the images that I most cherish of my little girls.

Here are few of my girls that I have taken over the past year….moments that I just happen to be walking by and loved the moment. Luckily, my camera is usually sort of close by, so I was able to grab it and snap these. They’re not perfectly set up, and maybe they’re not my best “work” but I love these. When I do real sessions for clients, these are the moments that I aim to capture.

This was taken after Katie’s 1st day of school this past fall…as you can see, not only did mommy miss her, but little sisters did as well!

I vow, first of all to spend a little more time with my girls this summer…..I vow to slow down a little bit & enjoy some pool and beach time with my family…..and most of all, I vow to capture many many more moments of my own beautiful girls and actually edit and print the images right away. What do you vow to do???

Sweet Baby Boy {McAllen Baby Photographer}

This was a fun session for me because this little one is only one month older than my baby, Abby. I love seeing the similarities in babies that are so close in age – they have some of the same expressions, they make some of the same noises, and in this case, his disposition was also similar to Abby’s. Thanks mom for letting me photograph your precious little boy!
